There has been a lot going on at the gym and again I would like to thank you all for your support and understanding while the building work was taking place and classes/coaches were switched around.
There will be a new timetable printed in reception and the website will be getting a well needed update but until then please check back here or add me on facebook (rach mcmillan) to keep up to date with what happening at the gym.
For those of you that missed it here's a review of all the action from our latest SFC fight night!
1) Luke Etebar 1st gen Vs Alan Cooper MMA
If you blinked or nipped to the loo you probably missed this fight! Luke came out strong quickly talking his opponent down against the cage and finished the fight with a RNC submission.
2)Johnny Cromwell ZT vs Josh Lappin Colosseum K1
3 rounds of K1 action saw both fighters come out strong and looking to cause some damage. A unanimous decision victory was given to Johny who landed some great knees to the face of his opponent.
3)Lee Finch 1st gen VS Alex Dalmedo Crossface MMA
Lee used his grappling skills to work the takedowns and keep the fight on the ground controlling his opponent and working the ground and pound, he won via unanimous decision after two four minute rounds.
4)Emma Mather 1st gen VS Tess Marie gym xtreme K1
A furious bout of female k1 saw both fighters landing some big shots in the first round. Tess finished the fight in the second round winning by TKO.
5) Adnan Bush Ashi 1st gen VS Alex Dalmedo Crossface MMA
Stepping into the cage for a second time that night Alex faced up against Adnad, the fight mainly fought standing and Adnad was able to finish the fight with some painful low leg kicks in the second round.
6) Hovo Tadevosyan 1st gen VS Trevor Suko H.O.P K1
A thrilling round of K1 action which saw Hovo land some great kicks and knees to his opponent. Both fighters showed some powerful and skillful K1. The fight was stopped in the third round after Hovo landed a heavy hitting knee from the clinch with Trevor unable to continue.
7) Lenny Scudder 1st gen VS Sunny Sandhu crossface MMA
Probably one of the most action packed mma fights of the night, with scores tied after two rounds a third round was fought, Lennie got some big takedowns however Sunny defended well and managed to remain in a dominant position winning him the fight on split decision.
8) Gary Doocey 1st gen VS Pavel H.O.P Boxing Title
Gary was quick to show dominance over his opponent showing great footwork. His body shots from close range agaisnt the cage floored his opponent in both the first and the second round before causing enough damage that the fight was stopped in the third round
9) Liam Etebar 1st gen VS Adam Fyfe Silverback MMA title defend
Defening his SFC welter weight belt Liam was quick to initiate attack and work for the take down, his opponent defended well however it was not long before the fight was taken to the ground and finished with a RNC submission.
10) Danny Smith VS Glen Mclellan ZT Title defend boxing
The last fight of the night was a heavy weight boxing clash between 1st gens own Danny Smith and Zts Glen Mclennan, the first round showed both fighters landing some great shots, Glen seemed to be the more technical of the two but Dannys showed pure powerful and relentless. The second round saw a change of pace with Danny keeping the pressure on and Glen losing confidence after taking some big punches. Danny ended the fight with a body shot for the win and ensuring that all three title belts remain at first gen!
So guys and gals there you have it another impressive fight night that I hope you all enjoyed the show and the after party!
